Photographer's Note

These women are returning to their home after working full day as a Daily Labor in nearby fields. They also bring green fodder for their cattle. They don't have too many cattle but may be one or two buffaloes or cows or few goats.

They leave their home by 8:00 a.m. and return around 06:00 p.m. They get between Rupees 50-100 (USD 1$=Rs. 44) each day. Both man and woman work and as usual, most of the man (nearly 50% of these workers) enjoys their daily night using locally made liquor called Deshi Sharab.

Harmonious and peaceful, but your useful note about the 75-80% men drinking at night reminds us of the reality... (although that statistic is leaving me a little skeptical, I would have thought rather 25%, but maybe that is optimistic ?)

Anyway, very nice and well framed, bravo !

A very nice photo with a good compo. The trees, the people and the cows are well spread over the photo.
The mood in the photo is very calm and quiet, the water, the soft light, people walking home and the very nice colors.

Great daily life scene of rural India. Your note depicts plights of labourers. The situation by and large is common in entire country. The mirror image of tree, women and cattle adding beauty in your pictures.

Hi Rakesh,
A simple, but wonderful compo with all that expanse of land and water and the reflections on it. I like also the relaxing atmosphere and that line of trees, cows and women with her colourful saris that give a very nice contrast.
Somehow, I feel it much "Indian".
