Photographer's Note

Amer Fort is located in Amer (a town with an area of 4 square kilometres, 11 kilometres from Jaipur, Rajasthan state, India. It is one of the principal tourist attractions in the Jaipur area, located high on a hill.Amer Fort was made by Meenas king Raja Alan Singh Chanda later occupied by Kachhawa rajput . Amer Fort is known for its artistic style, blending both Hindu Rajput elements. The fort with its large ramparts, series of gates and cobbled paths, overlooks the Maota Lake, at its forefront. The aesthetic ambiance of this formidable fort is seen within its walls on a four level (each with a courtyard) layout plan in well turned out opulent palace complex built with red sandstone and marble consisting of the Diwan-e-Aam or the "Hall of Public Audience", the Diwan-e-Khas or the "Hall of Private Audience", the Sheesh Mahal (mirror palace) or Jai Mandir, and the Sukh Niwas where a cool climate is artificially created by winds that blow over the water cascade within the palace. Hence, the Amer Fort is also popularly known as the Amer Palace. The palace was lived in by the Rajput Maharajas and their families. At the entrance to the palace near the fort’s Ganesh Gate, there is also a temple dedicated to Sila Devi, a goddess of the Chaitanya cult which was gifted to Raja Mansingh when he had defeated the Raja of Jessore in Bengal (Jessore is now in Bangladesh). This fort along with Jaigarh Fort located immediately above on the Cheel ka Teela (Hill of Eagles) of same Aravalli range of hills, is considered as one complex, as the two are well connected by subterranean passage. This passage was meant as an escape route in times of war for the royal family members and others in the Amer Fort to shift to the more redoubtable Jaigarh Fort. Annual tourist visitation to the Amer Palace in Amer town was reported by the Superintendent of Department of Archaeology and Museums to the Amer Palace as 5000 visitors a day, and 1.4 million visitors were reported during 2007.

questa è una vera sciccheria!
Mi piace anche perchè hai dato un aspetto insolito di questa attrattiva turistica che sembra essare viva per la presenza della barca che completa a perfezione la composizione.
La luce è bellissima, dai toni molto caldi e ben si addice al soggetto che si trova in una delle zone più calde dell'India.
Complimenti di nuovo per le belle foto dell'India che ci stai proponendo, un paese ottimamente valorizzato dalla tua arte fotografica.

gran bella composizione, il muro con il suo riflesso sembra avvolgere l'osservatore, con la barca in primo piano ad aprire la scena in modo splendido e che dire della luce....troppo bella.

Hi Valter,
A different kind of view of the Amber fort, very tranquil and shows how it is placed in such a lovely setting, and we get a good sense of it's large size. The boat in the foreground is the perfect detail to introduce s to the scene. Nice golden tones too.

Ciao Valter,
un' immagine bellissima con paesaggio ed architettura affascinanti. La lunghissima curva esaltata dall' inquadratura fa lo sguardo procedere nel paesaggio seguendola e c' e' un' interazione armoniosa fra tutti gli elementi della composizione. La resa delle tessiture e' ottima ed i colori contrastanti sono naturali, ben definiti e gradevoli. La presenza umana non e' in evidenza ma e' certamente sentita vicino alla barca. Hello Valter,
Rajasthan has an incredibly rich cultural heritage. This is one of dozens of fantastic places. The rowing-boat is quite ordinary but serves as a perfect foreground. Furthermore its surprising lack of bright colours makes it almost melt into the surroundings. Its colours match the ground, wall and hillside perfectly.

the longer I look at this one the more i like it.
the wrap around type of effect works well, and fills up the entire frame.
having that boat in the fg works too, but its the golden light on the wall thats the highlight :)

Hello Valter,
it´s a perfect image and scene to show us how huge impact on photgraphy has light.In this shot it creates the whole mood of it and makes the colors appear to us more saturated and warm.
I like also tranquility and soltitude of the scene,which is very meanigful here.

The light enhances the view of the walls and towers surround the waterfront, with the boat in FG scale the whole.
I am impressed with the view from POV chosen over the hilltop's walls. A magnificent scenery collected, perfect clear image.

The lower Sunlight creates nice warm colors.
Picture has a great composition pov and light
management: the open spaces makes the picture
nice calmness and the boat on the forground
creates an extra depth. The mirror in the
water is a nice extra.
