Photographer's Note

At seven o'clock this morning in the Meenakshi Temple you could still find some quite places to watch the streaming flock invading the temple to assist the marriage of Meenakshi and Sundareswarar.

Soon after the procession would go out with the holy cars, Meenakshi and Sundareswarar sitting on a throne.

Yesterday evening Meenakshi was still seduced by another arakkan or bad man but Meenakshi took his life, the Tikkuvijaiyam Festival.

Really a fine Sunday with a festival mood and Madurai Police most helpful guiding me through the crowd, they start to know me ... :)).

La lumière est si belle qu'elle semble artificielle ! Les détails sont superbes. Une excellente image. Si je n'avais pas déjà un 5D tu aurais fini par me convaincre...

Hi Henk,

This is surely a great photo, where light is simply sublime. I like to see it through transparency, reflection and as halo; light is everywhere and in so many different manifestations! Your subject almost get some god-like qualities, surrounded by all this fabulous light. The bouncing orange on the stone wall behind the lady is wonderful!!!!

Hi Henk. A very nice shot of this devotee. The light through the pallu of her sari made a beautiful impact. You managed well with Madurai police who discouraged me to take snaps inside the temple when I tried during my visit in Early January.I attempted a WS just to focus on the enlightened one. Regards.

Dit vind ik een schitterende foto, hoe u hier met licht gewerkt heeft is zo fantastisch, van deze foto kan ik houden door zijn hoge kwaliteit in in houd.
Aan de laatste maand begonnen?
België kreund onder de droogte en de zon, meer dan dertigdagen geen regen gezien, alle record sneuvelen qua warmte en zon.

Contre jour, splendid this one... Simple but effective title, maybe your model would be suprised reading it... ligth as an aura around the hair and the transparency at the end of her saree : superb !
