Photographer's Note
A short day trip by train (3 hours) from Kollam to Ernakulam (Kochi) to admire the green Kerala (not in this photo ;o)).
No need to say it, if you don't travel by train, you miss a piece of India.
Thanks, Alain -

hey Al,
Awesome 3 layered composition and unusual view. I really like the feet in the middle layer here. I said its different for you because its moe of a Maciek shot than your style which for me is more avantagarde and artsy. This is pure documentary and how fitting in light of recent events.

Hello Alain

Another excellent shot from India. Terrific composition, and lights. Yes, I agree that you miss a vital part of India if you don't travel by train...but it must be ordinary trains with many stops, not those A/C express trains.

I appreciate that you show people the real life in INDIA... more or less the same as in China - that's why I like it!

Alain,
A wonderful caricature, rolled out very nicely....Your frame tells more than one story, in a non-chalantt fashion...
Very nice...

Alain....re

That is true Alain. Travelling in India in Train is an awesome experience. Train journey is still an affordable option of many of Indians and I know it is slowly changing. But still it is. I like to sit by the window during nights and watch the distance twinkling lights in villages. I've travelled several times in Kerala and its an unforgettable experience. I'm glad you did it. A typical train journey shot. Getting a friend in a train is a thrilling experience. We never know who will we meet and some times they could be famous people with lots to tell. I've had a tasteful time in trains.

hey...
good composition, especially with the glimpses of the sleeping feet. i like how all the heads are chopped off, and only the woman's face is visible in profile. but i think the border you have put is a little too imposing.
the indian railways is infinitely photrographable. i have been putting up a few photos taken during my latest travel. hope to hear your comments.
bishan.

Ahhh, second class sleeper...
I spent 3 days on one of those going from Delhi to Enarkulam...
An evocative photo, well, for me at least.

So true...you cannot say you have seen India without having been on one of the trains...there are more and more train photographs emerging from trips to India - yours and Arindam's are some of the better ones.
I like the angle you chose...
