Photographer's Note

This photo I took during my second visit to Nagarhole National Park. This park is located to the northwest of Bandipur National Park. It was set up in 1955. Later on in 1975 its area was increased to 573 sq.km. The river Kabini has been blocked to form a large reservoir that separates this park from Bandipur National Park. The climate is tropical, summers are hot. This is the one of the few remaining habitats of the Asian elephant.
