Hello Kasia,
These photos bring back memories of watching the sun rise above the bathers. I have some similar photos, the main difference being that yours are much better. I was here with a temporary travel companion I had met on the train. I remember that we told the boatman to stop every time we wanted to take photos, so it was a slow ride. I have seen few places with a more magical atmosphere than these bathing ghats at dawn, which is evident from these photos.
Did the man take off his pants as soon as you had put away your camera? ;-)

A lovely capture. Light, silhouettes misty background and birds seeming to circle the sun all make for a magical image.

A moment of peace at sunrise on the Ganges capturing the early morning goings on in this wonderful location - one of the most intriguing and fascinating places in the World to visit. I love the soft light, colours, the birds' silhouettes surrounding the sun and cross diagonal composition. That is one atmospheric and evocative image. P/s tx to your extra pics as they are of equal good quality

Hello Kasia,

Photographing in low light is enough of a problem without the other issues! I know I had to turn the ISO extremely high to prevent lots of noise!
These photographs capture the early morning atmosphere really well.
The bathing man, the boat preparation, the rising birds the sunlit reflection split by the b/g boat and the red sun are all fine details.
My favourite is the w/s of the ghats but this is also a fine shot.

Witaj Kasu, Taka wycieczka łódką przed wschodem słońca wzdłuż Gangesu to rzeczywiście niezapomniane przeżycie. Też płynęłam. W naszej łódce oprócz moich koleżanek byli dwaj buddyści, przy czym jeden chyba za stanów. I pamietam, że byłam zdumiona, jak dobrze sie orientował w aktualnej sytuacji w Polsce. Mam z Varanasi i okolic mnóstwo zdjęć, których nie miałam okazji pokazać. Może kiedyś zajrzę do archiwum.

Hi Kasia.
Great beauty of this composition, I suppose that very early in the morning, ideal that shy sun, which nevertheless leaves a beautiful wake on the surface of the river, the backlight of the boats and the few people, gives a feeling of peace and tranquility , difficult to observe precisely in a place like Varanasi, where everything is crowds or at least I remember it that way.
A magnificent range of colors, which gives an attractive chromatism.
Very good management of the brightness, as well as the sharpness of the image.
Good work, which we enjoy. I love it.

Hello Kasia, a beautifully timed shot with the rising sun perfectly placed within the composition. The reflection of the sun links the two boats very nicely.
The foreground rope makes a good leading line into the centre of the picture.
The man bathing fills that space, and fortunately he is looking in the right direction for your composition.

Kiedy przeczytalem ze "I was glad he decided to keep his pants on for this photo", mialem troche stracha zagladac do workshop photos...
Jaka szkoda ze na lodzi nie da sie ustawic statywu :)
Ciekawy efekt. Na zdjeciu ta rzeka wydaje sie dosyc brudna, ale domyslam sie ze modlitwa w rzece raczej zapobiega chorobom niz ich przysparza. Moznaby zrobic takie badania...

this is a special place in india I had no time to visit, usually people put rajasthan and varanasi in the same packet and I put gujarat and damăo in the packet. amazing images, the main post has many interesting elements, so well positioned. in my last trip I took dozens of photos of red birds in movement at sunset and I was inside a boat in movement. I know how difficult it is. I got few images with some quality anyway.
