Photographer's Note

I came across these nomads just before crossing the Taglung la (5328 meters asl) on the Manali Leh road on my bicycle. The nomads of this herd had this very peculiar look of people shaped by the landscape. Just by looking at them you could tell that they were used to living at an altitude of 5000 meters with lots of sunshine and winds. I got a feeling as if they were sculpted by their environment, not like most of people staying in the cities who try to sculpt the evironment for themselves.

Technically, I don't really like this photo that much as it leaves so much to desire, but I still wanted to share with viewers of TE what the nomads that graze their herd at 5000 meters lool like.

Fore more details, please look at my previous post.
