Hauz Khas village is in the south of Delhi. This place is full of surprises. In the busy and crowded city, this place stands out for its unique and peaceful tranquility mesmerizing one and all that visits the place. One would find it amazing how a place like this exits in the metropolitan city.


Hauz Khas village caters the need for everybody from the avid shoppers looking for some antique work of art and also the people looking for a getaway from the busy city life can always come and relax amidst the greeneries and the famous lake in the village. It is truly incredible how this place have a mixture of both the modern and the old, both carrying out very well. This place is a favorite for the designers to open their boutique as the shoppers can shop in a peaceful and relaxing environment. You can find an impressive range in fashion ensembles, carpets, old silver antiques, furniture and artifacts that use traditional techniques.


This is also a popular hunting place of the foreigners as this place truly shows the India in its true form. Once you are done with your shopping you can stop for a meal as there are many good restaurants that serve typical Indian cuisine like Park Balluchi which is one the best restaurants in Delhi, Naivedyam, or the Village Bistro. In the restaurant Darbar, each guest is served royally with traditional rajasthanis dressed in their costumes entertain the guests making them forget everything and delve into the music.

For art lovers this is the place to be as the whole place is lined by ancient stone monuments. There are also the tombs of minor Muslim royalty from the 14th to the 16th centuries like Firoz Shah Tughluq, who ruled Delhi in the 14th century. This place got its name from the “Royal Tank" that once stood in the place, built by Allauddin Khilji as a water source for his nearby fort, which now refers to the now-meager artificial lake visible from Firoz Shah's pillared tomb.
