Collecting raindrops, a photo from West Bengal, East

This picture was taken accidentally. I was waiting for a rickshaw in the opposite side of the road and it was raining a bit. This little girl was taking bath in a road side tube-well. I am not really sure but it seems she is collecting the rain drops in her red mug and she was totally lost on that.

Playing with raindrops is eye-striking. The pic is candid, it seems u r totally unnoticed by the girl.

I love the rich tones and textures of this shot coupled with the wide-eyed innocence of the little girl collecting 'raindrops'.

Though cropped, your collection is precious.
The expression is captured well with beautiful natural light.
Red in hand, green in back, handle of tubewell, the wall mats (chatai, as we call it) completes the pic.

The texture here are lovely, especially the mat behnd her, I think baskets and mats texturize so well. The use of the natural light on her face is well done. And the concentration on her face is excellent she doesnt have eyes for you at all.

Beautiful shot, Arindam!

This is one of the best children portraits in TE. Look haw girl collecting the rain drops in her red mug. Excellent composition and good frame. I love the colors in your photo and note is good too.

ooooohhh thats a killer shot.

I love the rich green backdrop and this hot red contrast! You also have an engaging human subject doing something really interesting. Nice details and great color saturation. Super job!

Hi Arindam, me gusta esta foto, es un encanto ver a la niña distraída intentando recoger el agua de la lluvia.

En cuanto a la composición es muy buena la verticalidad de la imagen rematada con el rojo del cubo y la mirada de la muchacha.

Hi Arindam - I was so sure I had written a comment on this one ! I must have thought it and then didn't do it!! Well I really like this young lad's concentration on his task - with this light almost as if it is a task driven by divine inspiration! A very nice compositional balance - the green leaves and the red bucket together are your own inspirational masterstroke.

I just love the closeness of the subject. It's great.

Guess it is true that you stumble upon jewels when you least expect to find them. This one is gonna be one of my all time favourites. A touching image of how children get lost in a world of their own innocence. A perfect shot.

this is very nice picture, true candid shot, very intimidate moment. The light on her face (although from technical point of view it overburns it) create almost mystical feel - it looks like illumination moment more than mere play.
Really good shot (as well as many others from you).
