Road to Buxa, a photo from West Bengal, East

Photographer's Note

The 5 KM trek from Santrabari to Buxa Fort is enjoyable for the picturesque surroundings. First of all, the trek is within comfort level; secondly, the track through forested hills is full of unknown birds and butterflies.
Once it was a terrible and dreadful route and the fort atop the Buxa Hill (Sinchulla range) was once used as a high security prison and detention camp. It used to be treated as the most unreachable prison in India after the Cellular Jail in Andaman.
The fort is at an altitude of 867 meters in the Buxa Tiger Reserve, Jalapaiguri district, West Bengal.

What a sheer coincidence Alekhya.
The other day I opened TE, the first image on TE was yours, and today again, the first image on TE is yours.

Telepathy ?

No doubt, the image is eye catching.
The perspective holds the eyes on this serpentine road.
What I definitely like in this shot is the exposure, which is well in control.
How presence of life in a shot changes the mood......this is important to know, and the positioning of the man with the red short is bang on target.

That particular red object( flower) on the extreme right is one of the point of interests which helps in the composition as a whole.
Take care of these tiny/minute points, and rest will follow.

What a beautiful nature of that wildlife sanctuary Alekhya, now I'm waiting for some biotopes or animals pictures maybe a tiger. Good colors, the shirt of this guy adds some vivid colors to the composition, about the Malaysian day I just read it's today in the news, Buna seara

Hello Alekhya,

You're capturing well this trek road by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the winding road along the small river and the surrounding rich greenery. It's also impressive in ups and down of road. And, the man wearing red shirts draws out a good impact in the point of the entire color balance.

Hi Alekhya,
another nice one from this trek route. I visited Buxa with my family, haven't got any chance for trek. Just made a 200 never trek to the sacred pond called 'pukuri'... That was also a nice place. Your photo is very well composed with very fine light management is there. A nice one depicting the atmosphere. Enjoyed a lot. Tfs.

How good to do a treak enjoying nature without so much effort

Looks like an idyllic spot for a stroll deliciously lit and the relaxed posture of the catchy stroller makes this an appealing shot.
