Photographer's Note
When we was to Hong Kong some years ago, we had a Sunday down too one of the popular islands, biking around, seeing the daily life, and was in the afternoon ready for the return.
Sitting in the back of the boat enjoying the afternoon sun this little lady seemed to take an interest in us. We could see that for many people this was a day for some kind of celebration as they were well dressed during their travel. So also this little princess in her best red velvet dress. But of course, like a real princess, not much in favour of having her picture taken.
I liked to present the pic. here (from my rather slim collection of portraits).
Pic. from slides adapter, run in neatimage, colour adjustment.

Wonderful photo, very nice portrait. I think it's a bit too red, so I made a WS. Such an innocent face, and great light and shadow contrast.

I love the light on her face. This is a very good shot: so spontaneous and soft. Do you have more portrait shots? (Congratulations!)

beutiful picture, such warm colours.. even the water is red a bit, I don't mind it... the pose of the princess is great, casual and intriguing.. the only nitpick would be the round thing in the left bottom corner, but I don't care about it much.. very nice picture.
the island you were is probably Cheung Chau Island, those boats are still there..

Nice portrait of a very cute girl Jack. She seems sad but the mood is very nice, thanks to the red.

A very pleasing portrait. The side-lighting on her face and on the folds of her dress give this a lot of character without being harsh.

j'adore ce visage, la photo est tres belle le cadrage me semble parfais.
Comme dis avigur, un peu trop de rouge peu etre.
Le rouge me semble trop agressif pour se visage si doux , j'ai donc changer les couleur dans mon workshop

I do not want that the girl she is sad, but its expression its wonderful. Its look seems so absent.
The red colour of the close its beautiful and the skin of the girl is so natural. Exellent shot Jack.

The girl has a nice expression. I feel she is looking at something she doesn't understand. I like the light and shadow, both on her face and on her coat sleeve. Well captured.

Wonderful picture. You can tell by the number of workshops that it's a really compelling and wonderful image. I've done a workshop to lighten up her face a bit, and slightly mute her red dress.
I love the composition. The hand on the rail, and the exression on her face. A very nice picture, and a great note.

Your photo matches the softness of the velvet dress! The soft tones and light are great, and also the play between light and shadow. Good composition.

This is such a gentle, emotional image! I like it how her face is darker than the bright window she seems to be reaching toward. Nice work!

Beautiful picture. Somehow, I don't mind the red. This color is so much associated to China for me, that it works well in this case.

Neat image has done a good job on the subject. Try the healing tool to eliminate and clean out dust and dots. The red is a bit over saturated. Nice portrait and good composition. Well done Jack.

I like how she's looking away from that evident view she has in front of her.

A wonderful portrait! Just wonderful. I like the way you captured her holding the rail with the light touching her velvet dress. She has that shy, pensive look about her, that is very captivating. I really think this is one of the nicest portraits I have seen so far. And the boat in the background is a nice, small addition to the overall photo.

A little blue magenta, but still a great shot, none-the-less. Even the workshop by "avigur 11" still has a magenta / blue cast. Excellent lighting & composition.

hi again,
again a great composition by you.
it's true that it is a little bit too red but i liked the conflict between the power of red and the innocence on the face.
great portrait.
all the best.
