1 EURO per DAY, a photo from Shanghai, East

Photographer's Note

this 76 yrs oldman sells newspapers one hour per day, and he earns around one euro everyday, to use for his grandsons' pocket money.

he refused to be taken pics in the begining, but after chatting a while, he said ok only if we promise to gave him a photo copy later.

he took out a comb to arrange his hair be4 i raise my cam. later we got to know he believes that oldmen should be always active:

"the more u rest, the closer death come to you..."

This is so cool. I really like the angle and the way you managed to compose the whole shot. The newspapers really give a lot of context to the whole image. Where was this taken? I'm going to have to look for this guy myself...good work!

I hope you kept your part of the bargain.
I think the B&W works well and the inclusion of his newspapers is good to add more interest.

You make a nice pair with Ricardo what he got in colors and fine sharpness you got it in a perfect compo depicting all the newspapers he is selling, also some problem for the link ? copy following, edit and paste it in the note of the photo ...

I wish I got a1 euro every day when I was a child , I would not have to work so hard to day that’s for sure.
But the composition is very good its not too tight cropped and not to close by
Its clear what he is doing and it has a lot of details
The white is A bit on the bright side but not too much
