Photographer's Note
On my fourth day in Hong Kong, I decided to visit Macau.
Macau is 65 km west from Hong Kong, one hour-trip with a speed ferry. Macau was the first European enclave in Asia. It was Portuguese until China resumed sovereignity over it in 1999.
This photo was taken at the 61st floor of Macau Tower.
The Tower is 338 meters high, the 10th tallest free-standing structure in the world. It stands on the narrow isthmus of land southeast of Avenida da Republica.
You can experiment a very thrilling walk around the main outer rim of the tower, 233 meters above ground. Safety is guaranteed by a world-first overhead rail system. Next time, I will do it !
And here is the website of Macau Tower

Tu n'as pas essayé ?

ha. incredible shot. i can almost feel wind up there. this blue haze everywhere is 'as was' or it is a matter of some filter or processing ??
anyway it is very good angle. i can see ow far he vieew is and how much there is to the ground. and the twist of camera make the scene live :)

This one is really cool, Sylvie. A great feeling of height would already have been conveyed from a more "conventional" shooting angle, but the way in which you applied a tilted framing here, and included the people and the "posing" guy, enhances it even more - and it also adds a story-telling element. Very good one. Added to my theme.

i almost missed this one. excellent composition! it was a great idea to tilt it. i love how the people are hung into the frame like marionettes. also funny how the guy's camera is on a harness too, i guess they don't want things dropping from 61 floors! (i wonder if glasses are allowed?) congrats and tfs!

Vertigo indeed! I do not know if I would be there... Just by looking to your photo I'm feeling a very unconfortable feeling! ;-)
And this is due mainly to the tilt you have give to your photo. A good trick to create dinamic and increase the feeling of the height and unbalance.
A happy new year for you and yours! May it bring all that you wish!

Olá Sylvie,
I got lost in your gallery and ended up here, balancing dangerously over the edge and I'm almost dizzy. I love such thrilling places and high views, but I'm not sure if I would have the courage for this. Excellent use of the tiltness to enhance the impact of vertigo. The lighting was very dificult to manage and the view is a bit overexposed, but even so the result of this capture is excellent, mainly because of the way you captured those crazy guys overthere.

Bonsoir sylvie,
Ton cadrage oblique ets super.

The diagonal view, the dizzying heights, the crazy loon dangling his foot over the edge...well you do have one great composition on your hands.
Overexposed backdrop, but who cares, I dont quite think camera settings would be on the forefront of my mind thats for sure.

What an excellent view, the tilt works in this one for me and the far bridge gives a real sense of height.
It's good to know the confidence that the 'dancer' has in the gear.
We have a similar rail system at one of our climbing walls near Edinburgh.
Only small criticism is the overexposure of the horizon, but it's difficult shooting such contrasting light.
