Photographer's Note
Lost in the mountains near the tibetan border, the famous monastery of Babang (Pelpung) hosts over 500 monks and one small printing house. Religious texts have been carved in wooden blocks for centuries. These blocks are kept preciously and are used as a support to print the religious texts by applying ink on them.

Dear Warren
Excellent moody shot using available light to perfection and well written note, congrats!!! Nowadays such printing methods cannot be seen very often. The letter shelves add DOF to your picture. Due to the tilted wide angle lens the looks even more attractive. Sharpness is adequate. Well done
Best regards
Urs

A great scene and photo here...really remarkable. It's as if you happened to wander into a moment from the past. The whole atmsosphere is quite something...with the carved, wooden blocks, the old monastery walls and window, and this lone man, encompassed by his work. The lighting coming through the window makes for a mood that is just amazng. Very nicely done.

Hi Warren, interesting place, thanxs for the note. Good descriptive picture too, just a bit overexpossed on the window, but difficult light to get the details you could get inside. Good work, chau chau,
Maria

Bonjour Karl,
Insightful shot. Technicalities aside, this shot has really valuable documentary feel to it. I also love the uniformity of the earth-like colours.
