Photographer's Note
This guy had the basic idea - jump up in the air, land in the water. Hadn't grasped the more advanced concepts of competition diving....

Very nice catch! Appropriated title too, I think his friend is laughing at him...

Nice shot, and good caption too! :-D
Nasty chromatic aberration on the left of the image though - other than that there's not much color, so why not just convert to monochrome?

Lovely pose - if you can call what he's doing posing. This is one of those strangely emblematic moments that India offers from time to time (and Bengal is India - sorry). Yes, the strength of this is the shape and contrast - no need for the very little colour it contains, and b+w might actually strengthen it. Is there any possibility of cropping in hard, removing everyone except the diver, and cutting a strip off the bottom to balance? Not crucial, just wonder if it might strengthen the look.

About your note : but still, it is an inspired jump/dive ! funny photo, I discovered it through TE's 1st page today... I like your way of seeing things !
(I don't know how the photo could have been framed in another way, but it is not totally ideal IMHO)
Cath.
