Photographer's Note
As is customary to do, this extended family had travelled to the Hazrat Shah Jala mosque to pay homage to the grandmother, the wife of the elderly man squatted on the right. The rain was heavy and in thin clothes would have been drenched in no time. We huddled in the doorway opposite, they were as interested in us as we were in them. Once the rain had stopped they invited us into the mosque to join them for food, again a custom at such occasions.

Hello Elaine,
An amusing photo with lots of interesting faces and fine colours. The light was good despite the heavy rain and you cropped the photo into a nice horizontal shape. I like your description how you were looking at each other. Are you sure nobody in the family had a smartphone with a camera?
Regards,
Gert

Hello Elaine,
What a nice surprising image.
The rain brought you together, it seems a portrait out a movie, as figurants.
The faces are all direction to your camera.
But when you the ask got to eat this gives a confidence.
You picture are nice sharp and clear.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice evening,
John

Hello Elaine,
I know that many people in the world are squatting extremely easily.
Still, it never ceases to amaze me how they keep this up for hours.
Only the man on the far right has given up looking serious.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Elaine,
It's kind of 'Humorous' , the squatting family portrait.
All are looking at you ... except one girl ( left ), must be camera shy.
Do I see four generations of this family? I wonder.
The two men , they seem to be at ease with friendly appearance whereas the women seem to be little 'demureness'.
You know, I love their custom. Just like I had experienced in Malaysia. Who can say no to that. You must have enjoyed the food they served. I just simply love Indian curries ... esp fish curry.
Thanks for sharing this respectful family portrait.

Hi Elaine.
If I would like my family or friends to pose for me with such a great attention and almost all staring at me -it would never happen! Great gropu portrait.
I like the poses they had, it looks quite inconvenient from my perspective but must have been convenient for them if they all did it.
Very well doen,
M

Hello Elaine,
How interesting! Your notes explain clearly why this family was squatting closely in a recess and looking directly at you!
What a fine opportunity to record this tight knit family.
I enjoyed learning about the tradition of inviting you in for food, after the rain had ceased.
Have a good w/e,
Bev :-)

Hello Elaine, beautiful view of this extended family group so interested in the photographer on the other side of the street.Old and young, men and women. Only one girl looks in the other direction. It is always amazing for me how they can spend a lot of time squatting like this. Excellent colours and sharpness.

Hi Elaine,
You have captured well the serious expression of the persons. The point of view is showing the details of their physionomy and of their clotings. The light has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.
Pierre
