Photographer's Note

We are in the period of Ramadan and the mosque during the day, it's virtually desert.Only some tourists and nothing more. The caretaker walks among the arches,offering even as a tour guide to get some dinar.

Ciao Luciano. Reminds me a little of the beauty of Moroccan architecture. I love the repetitive pattern created by the arches and the wonderful light that livened the natural colours of the stone and the textures.Lovely result. Ciao. Klaudio.

I appreciate that he isn't placed straight in the middle, somehow balancing your composition with the door in the opposite direction.

An interesting note and a fabulous photograph to accompany it!

The composition here is so wonderfully simple and yet this picture is so very appealing! The row of archways makes a lovely frame and the single figure of the caretaker, dressed in a colour contrasting with the walls, makes a strong statement here.

The repeating arches make for a strong perspective, but it's the inclusion of this gentleman that gives it increased interest. Very well timed and smartly taken with regard to Ramadan. The caretaker is a nice addition bringing the scene to live and offering scale. Even without him, the composition would be very successful. I like very much the perspective created by the repeating arches. Also, the appealing warm tones and the excellent rendering of the textural detail in the ancient walls.

This is a fine compostion of the long line of slightly uneven vaults. The caretaker is well placed and his clothes make a fine contrast to the ochre coloured stones.The pleasant light falls perfectly from the side.

Hi Luciano,
I like these receding arches all leading off, creating excellent depth and closing with this dark and spooky doorway at the vey end. The difference in light between the bright sun flooding in from the left compared to the sheer darkness in the door is very pronounced. Te texture of the walls is perfectly captured.

This is a well chosen view, where the repeating arches act as a guide and create a good sense of depth. The open door is a good focal point and cannot help but attract our attention.
I do like the fact that you have included the caretaker for it gives human interest to the building. His traditional dress adds colour. Is that a pouch, for collecting money, that he is carrying, for his role as the new tour guide?

a nice view of these old arches and a personage well positioned. I liked the indirect light. In morocco I visited only a mosque, all of them were closed for not muslins. maybe in Tunisia things are different.

Bellissima prospettiva di volte con personaggio ben collocato, una foto ottima caro Luciano! Questo tipo di personaggi non è facole ritrarli di fronte, secondo la mia esperienza in Marocco la cosa giusta è lasciarli attraversare la scena,oppure inquadrare l'architettura o il paesaggio e aspettare che passi qualche tizio.

Nice use of the arches as framing devices with the dark arch at the back well posaitioned over the vanishing point. The man in robes adds scale and animates the scene as well as adding context. Good sharpness and effective tight framing. Excellent side lighting and good shadow detail. Good textural detail. Tfs!

this is an example of having the benefit of that human presence, works well. as does the color the is wearing, it contrasts the scene smartly.
