Photographer's Note

Along the canal path of [email protected] there lays couple of beautiful staakmolen type windmills. This one is called the The Bonne-Chière and was built in 1911. Staakmolen is the earliest type of European windmill. The defining feature is that the whole body of the mill that houses the machinery is mounted on a single vertical post, around which it can be turned to bring the sails into the wind.

Hi Basak,
I like this silouhette on the background of those rainy clouds.
The tree on left complete the image as a foreground. The same play you can find in painting. Human figures give us proportions. Very well!

I've used the same effect you tried, of putting the things against the light to make a kind of "aura" around. Congrats!

Gökyüzü zor idi gerçekten, çok iyi halletmişsin. Ben epey zorladım, yine de pek olmadı. Özellikle değirmenin patlağı dengeleyecek yerde olması ve solda da ağacı tutmak kompozisyon açısından kesinlikle iyi fikir. Detayları belirgin silüetlerin ise denildiği gibi ebatlar/oranlar konusunda yardımcı. Neden 650 x 433 piksel onu anlamıyorum. Colomb da öyleydi. Hele krater gölün, thumbnail'den hallice.

hey, new year greetings Basak, how was the trip. saying hi with a good good photo, trust me i hsve seen billions of windmills on te and now i know what it looks like ..but this is a special photo with the scale and the silhouettes..the branches leading us to the frizzy sky and the subject..cinematic representation, you visualized this well..

I like the point of view against the light drawing the silhouettes of the windmill, the tree and the walkers. It gives a strong graphic impact to this shot and originality.
