Photographer's Note

A Ponte dos Suspiros deve ser uma das pontes mais fotografadas de Veneza, juntamente com a de Rialto.

Perto da Praça de S. Marcos, é fácil fotografá-la a partir da Ponte de Paglia, com o Canal de S. Marcos pelas costas.

Construída em 1602, liga as salas de interrogatório do Palácio dos Doges às prisões. O nome (Bridge of Sighs) terá sido usado por Lord Byron, no livro "Childe Harold's Pilgrimage", sugerindo que os prisioneiros, ao atravessarem a ponte, a caminho da prisão, tinham uma última visão de Veneza e suspiravam.

Hello Sergio,

a very difficult situation which you managed well, over- or underexposure of parts of the image were almost inevitable - but you made it and created a great hommage to one of the most picturesque cities of Europe.

I like this shot a lot. The composition is wonderful with points of interest on both buildings, the bridges, and the background (not to mention the symmetrically placed gondolas. Nice job keeping the detail in the building on the left while not blowing out the background.

I walked inside the bridge-tunnel and also stood on the other one to take pictures. I havent been this side and it is nice to see how it looks like. thanks :)
