Photographer's Note
Good Morning My Friends,
My posting, today, is of a very imposing house on the edge of the village. I particularly like the tall chimneys which appear like tall antennae! The naked tree in the garden adds a little softness to the straight, Victorian lines.
The early spring sunshine allowed it to be shown off to advantage, highlighting its orange ridge tiles and chimney pots, so characteristic of this type of building.
It's elevated position gives it wonderful views across the moors in one direction and across the village in the other.
Many thanks for your visit which I hoped you enjoyed.
Please feel free to feedback on any aspect of the photograph. Bev :-)

Hi Beverley,
We got a photo with a superb mood from you again. The composition is superb, the long wall our glance leads it away until the house and bare tree. The building, the landscape, the sunny distance all give calmness and peacefulness to the photo. The colours are beautiful likewise. Splendid photo.
Have a nice day!

Nice composition here using the stone wall to lead the eye into the shot. The house is well framed by the trees. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and DOF.

Again I am forceably struck by how like our area yours is. It is an imposing looking house and seems quite isolated, but is lucky to have close proximity with the village. I like the effect on the perspective of the wall from the slight rise in the field. There is an optical illusion of much stronger perspective lines than in actual fact. Good shot.
Have you solved your colour profile problem?

Hi Bev,
Beautiful light on this one! Great composition, too, with the triangular shadow leading the eye into the picture. Fantastic DOF that lets the eye wander along those hills in the distance.
Superb shot, thanks for sharing!

Hallo Beverley!
Here like especially this wonderful light and this springlike atmosphere - and this skillful composition with the diagonal wall. These chimneys here are rather uncommon and they are truly eyecatching. I also like this open and wide landscape...
Greetings from sunny but cool Germany!

Bev, antennae are a lot uglier than chimneys and there is nothing ugly about this capture of yours, you do live in some beautiful country. Great detail as always.

Hi Beverley!
Photo poetry... that's how I describe your photo style and this one is a perfect sample of it! Soft colors - specially light green and brown! Soft light, with good balance between brightness and shadows! Well elaborated compositions with all the elements so well placed in the frame! Adequate sharpness, creating a romantic atmosphere, usually painting-like images!
Yes, this picture has won my heart!
TFS - Congratulations!
Best regards,

Hi Beverley,
a wonderful composition with this bulky house in the surrounding landscape. Excellent perspective and management of the light. I also like these moody colors at the beginning of spring. The chimneys are remarkable indeed but I think that they are a kind of landmark in UK. TFS and have a nice weekend!
Warm regards

Stop it, you're making me jealous.
Are there any dreary, unpleasant, dirty places in your village? Everything looks so idyllic 19th century, one half expects to see women in crinolines and men in top hats and the odd horse-drawn carriage dawdling past.
Anyway, it's a nice picture, with the bare trees framing the house well, and the shadowy wall making a pleasing triangle to enhance the perspective. A real postcard beauty, and I don't mean that deprecatingly.
I suppose the fields will be full of daffodils soon; here, we're still having the usual Indian Summer and wishing it would go cold.
Regards,
Andrew

Hi Bev,
The old stone fence in the shadows draws a lovely line between the spring time green lawn and the beautiful old English style brick home with its distinct triple chimneys.
The light blue sky against the green hillside fields makes the ideal backdrop for this wonderful look at the English countryside.

Hi Beverley, and first let mo say that our thoughts are with you all, people of the greater Manchester area after last night terror attack.
The sight here is so contrasting to what said above, calm and serene, and so green. Wonderful photo with superb DOF out to the far side hilly terrain.
Wish you a better day now, sincerely.

Hello Beverley,
Wonderful landscape, so suitable for the better postcard!
I like the composition and framing very much and especially the dark triangle of the shadow side of the long wall in a sun-drenched green winter landscape.
Best regards, Paul
