Photographer's Note
Only in winter can you walk on water. This is a view from a bay in the St-Lawrence River in Pointe Claire Montreal. It was warm today and my wife and I went for a walk ON the St-Laurence River near Pointe Claire. On the point, you see the old mill (for flour milling), the convent and the church. The mill was biilt in 1709 in the French Regime Era. This is old time around here. The newer convent was built in 1867 and the new church in 1868. The presbitary in 1848.
Pointe Claire Mill - History
You can click on the church and the convent link at this site. Also, a French version "Francais".
Cropped, B&W because the sky was not blue and sharpenned.

Nice shot Alain!!!...
This photo is fresh and crisp... the people on the ice really adds life to the winter white landscape... the church, flour mill and trees are wonderful on the horizon... great choice for black and white...
I really like the composition and the way you have decided to crop the image... very well done...

Beautiful Photo, very sharp. The back and white almost takes you back in time. Its hard to beleive this shot was taken only a couple of months ago. Great composition, using both foreground and backgroup positioning. The people on the parth lead your eye back to the lovely old buildings.

This is really a very nice shot. The B&W look and the sharpness are amazing.
You may have severe winters, but also beautifoul ones.
Best regards

Bonjour Alain,
quelle belle composition sur cette photo et une profondeur qui s'étend à l'infini. Elle invite à la détente même sur ce lit glacé.
Beau travail

Hi Alain, this is something I miss right now, not being in Canada, though with all the snow you have had lately, you might need some snow shoes, or skies. I like the format you have selected for this one, with the long landscape. The church provides a good anchor for the shot with the people smaller and walking out on the ice. Good exposure with good textures seen throughout. Black and white works well for this one.
Thanks, John
