Photographer's Note
This small lake is at an elevation of about 10,000ft. It is called First Lake and can be reached by pack mules or hiking 3,ooo ft elevation gain along a narrow yet very beautiful High Sierra trail from Glacier Lodge in the Big Pine area. This same trail leads to a lake district and is a loop around several other lakes. It is well worth the strenuous hike and can be done in a day but is better as a two day hike for backpackers.

Such a lovely composition with the granite framing this little lake. You managed to hint at the distance. Just lovely. Congratulations. Judy

Hi Karen,
I was just around here in the siera, I was in I was in Onion Valley just outside of Independence. I hiked the Kearsarge Pass trail. There are some very similarity in the lake and landscape. The light is very strong here in the mid of hte day, but you managed very well with the rich turquoise lake and not over exposed the granit rocks. Good composition, you have some really beautiful flower to brighten up the foreground. Good shot, and thank for your comments.

Hi Karen, a beautiful panorama here. I like the flowers in the foreground which provide an anchor for the rest of the composition. Beautiful colours and excellent depth of field. TFS and I wish you a good Sunday, Lisa

Hello Karen,
What an amazing place and an outstanding landscape photo. The colors are very rich and beautiful; details are nice and sharp. Your POV is excellent allowing a view far into the distance. I like the small flowering plant in the foreground adding interest and color. Thank you for your critique of my picture of Great Falls.

Hello Karen,
After viewing your interesting Tall Ships images, I found this gem, one of the Eastern Sierra's many lakes and scenic trails.
The Pine Creek Trail is also worthy, for waterfalls in early summer.
I'm primed now to visit this October,
thank you,
Ray
