Photographer's Note

During my short trip to Ljubljana, I had the chance to visit Ljubljana Castlle which is amedieval castle and located on Castle Hill overlooking the old town.
According to archeological surveys, the area of the present castle has been settled continuously since 1200 BC, when the first settlements and later fortifications were built. The hill summit probably became a Roman army stronghold after fortifications were built in Illyrian and Celtic times.

The castle served various purposes in the past. It was a fortress, the regency of the governor general of the province, it was both a barracks and a prison, and now it is an attractive tourist destination.

The photo was taken in the permanent exhibition hall of the castle.
