Photographer's Note

while on a safari through the Kanha National Park, we came across this tiger, one of the most handsome and strongest i have ever seen. He was known for his attitude and eagerness to charge anyone who came closer than what was his comfort zone. I could see it in his eyes as i clicked the picture that he was contemplating whether we'd crossed that limit or not. I guess we had. He charged a couple of seconds after this shot was taken. What an experience! One of my first tiger charges...

i'm sure you've already checked out michael nichols work on tigers (in ranthambore)
there is a tiger called Charger who charges at jeepts etc as well..

p.s. it's a little hard to believe that this was a 50mm or even a 53-80 mm lens..
i think it's because of the blurry grass in foreground..

i just love tigers! great pic! i've been to kanha and can almost imagine the experience! great exposure and capture of expression in the eyes!look forward to more of the big cats...

Looks like it's Tiger Day on TE today (I posted a tiger pic too)! ;o)
Yours is a lot more impressive than mine because your specimen was out in the wild and free. I like the nice warm colors and you've managed a good depth of field despite the difficult conditions and certainly lack of time to make adjustements. I take this oppotunity to welcome you on TE!

i always wanted to be a zoo keeper, an d now i work with lions and tigers all the time at a wild life sanctuary here near my town of chico. and when i go to kolkata i spent my days in kolkata zoo. see my photos from there in te.
i applaud you on your awesome capture, you are living the life i drean of.
