Photographer's Note
This is the third of a series of shots taken at Bude Sea Pool, this one`s in BW using the Big Stopper Filter.
Bude Sea Pool is a tidal swimming pool on the beach at Bude in North Cornwall. The Sea Pool is part-natural and partially man-made.
The Sea Pool at Bude was created in the 1930s to provide a haven for safe swimming for the people of the town and the thousands of people who visit it each year.
The pool nestles under the cliffs on the north Cornwall coast and is topped up twice a day by the waves of the Atlantic. On a summer’s day the sprawling, sparkling expanse of the Sea Pool offers a blissful opportunity to escape from modern life and to laze, splash or bathe in calm sea water. It is a rare kind of construction: partially man-made and in harmony with the natural environment. Bude Sea Pool provides a precious opportunity to enjoy a unique experience, close to the ferocity of the natural environment but sheltered from its extreme effects.
Following funding cutbacks, the Sea Pool faces an uncertain future. The Friends of Bude Sea Pool was formed in early 2011 to secure the Pool’s future under local management.

it is just superb. Intelligent conversion in monochrome. Absence of colours created a visual elusion of levels. Nice reflection which is providing graphism here. Just love it. Very good one. Tfs.
Best wishes.

Hello Les,
An image that is more than a nod to Lisa (delpeoples) I would say. Well composed and making excellent use of the graphical lines offered by the poolside gangways. Fine conversion to black and white.

Shades of Lisa's bathing pools here Lesley and my compliments on a well exposed and managed shot. I do like the B&W treatment and simple composition. Warm regards Rosemary
PS. I have bought a Hi-Tech 10-stop but am struggling with quite a strong colour cast. How do you find your BS?

Hi Les
love this monochrome shot. Full of magical light and simple yet compelling elements made all the more so by the lack of colours. Sensual and artistic imagery. Well done!
Brian.

Hello Leslie,
It looks like a boarding gangway up in the sky.

A very expressive photo. It's a good idea to show your composition in B&W.
A sharpness and POV are superb.

Hello Leslie
Unlike the majority of TE members, I'm always drawn to monochrome images, probably because I used b/w film for so many years. And this is a stunner. The juxtaposition of sea and rocks on one side and still water and man-made artefacts on the other is very well achieved, and you've got plenty of detail in the sky (some burning-in during PP maybe?). Good work.
Regards
Will

Hello Les,
The b/w has given a special mood to this place. I like the strong diagonals of the concrete pool alongside the natural rock. A powerful image.
Best wishes, Ann

Hello Leslie,
a moody composition with a dramatic touch to it. I really like the way the mirror like water of the pool contrasts with the surface of the sea. Moreover the sky reflection gives your image a surrealistic, Magritte sort of feeling. The handrails are a clever inclusion. Have a nice day,
Emmanuel

Hi Leslie!
Beautiful and peaceful! I like the composition with the perfect reflection on the water and those dark clouds. Good exposure and very good in b&w!
