Photographer's Note

The Notre Dame served as the first cathedral of the Diocese of Montreal from 1821 to 1822e. It is located on 110 Notre-Dame St W Montreal, QC H2Y 1T2.

Notre-Dame Church was raised to the status of basilica by Pope John Paul II during a visit to the city on April 21, 1982. The Notre-Dame Roman Catholic Church was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1989.[7][8] The Gothic Revival style Basilica is a Montréal landmark, 1823-29.

On May 31, 2000 the provincial state funeral for former Montreal Canadiens superstar Maurice "Rocket" Richard was held in front of thousands, both inside and outside the Basilica.

On October 3, 2000 Justin Trudeau gave his eulogy just steps from the High Altar during the state funeral of Pierre Trudeau, his father and Canada's 15th prime minister.[10]

It was also the setting of Celine Dion's December 17, 1994 wedding to René Angélil

Hello Anna,

The architecture of this church is grandiose and you caught it well. The colors are amazing. You did not state if you used a tripod. If not, you have a very steady hand as the sharpness is very good. The image has a small tilt to the right. This can be corrected with a PP program.

About photo:
It's allways interesting to compare how the same place is viewed and presented by different photographers. I must tell you did a good work in this one. I like composition, colors, reflections and some little details like that man sitting on the bench. He fits here so perfectly that it's hard to recognise him. Very peaceful mood.

This is a delightful photograph of a church interior!

Your composition is excellent with the line of the seating leading in from bottom right and the light is simply divine. The presence of the man in the foreground on the left really adds to the composition very efffectively too.

Gorgeous light and colours, perfect exposure and excellent details and sharpness.

Hi Anna,

The length of the alley is giving depth to the composition. Using an ISO of 1600, a slwo shutter speed and probably a support is allowing me to see the détails and colors of the architecture of the interior of the Notre-Dame Basilica. It has also a special effect on the colors. For your indormation, it is located in Montréal. Have a nice day.

Nice depth and perspective picture, excellent colours and area.
You chose a very well angle.
One small remark, cut you picture 2 cm above for the grey narrow zone do disappear.
