Roma - The Colosseum

From Wikipedia:

The Colosseum, or the Coliseum, originally the Amphitheatrum Flavium (English: Flavian Amphitheatre, Italian Anfiteatro Flavio or Colosseo), the largest amphitheatre in the world is an elliptical amphitheatre in the centre of the city of Rome, Italy, the largest ever built in the Roman Empire, built of concrete and stone. It is considered one of the greatest works of Roman architecture and Roman engineering.
Occupying a site just east of the Roman Forum, its construction started in 72 AD under the emperor Vespasian and was completed in 80 AD under Titus, with further modifications being made during Domitian's reign (81–96). The name "Amphitheatrum Flavium" derives from both Vespasian's and Titus's family name (Flavius, from the gens Flavia).
Capable of seating 50,000 spectators, the Colosseum was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles such as mock sea battles, animal hunts, executions, re-enactments of famous battles, and dramas based on Classical mythology. The building ceased to be used for entertainment in the early medieval era. It was later reused for such purposes as housing, workshops, quarters for a religious order, a fortress, a quarry, and a Christian shrine.
Although in the 21st century it stays partially ruined because of damage caused by devastating earthquakes and stone-robbers, the Colosseum is an iconic symbol of Imperial Rome. It is one of Rome's most popular tourist attractions and still has close connections with the Roman Catholic Church, as each Good Friday the Pope leads a torchlit "Way of the Cross" procession that starts in the area around the Colosseum.

A classical view from Colosseo but i can always adore this view, as Rome is my best loved city on Earth and Colosseo is the heart of it.
Nice saturation and contrast, and very sharp details.

Hello Romano,
An excellent point of view to show us this wonderful survival from the age of antiquity. The visitors bring the scene to life and give us a n idea as to the size of the area. I like the contrasting tones offered by the greenery. Very good colours and sharpness.

Amazing and unusual capture from this wonderfull landmark in Rome !
Very good pov and layout.
The green parts shall fade away in July and August, unfotunately, but here it adds a veru special taste to the scenery.
Many interesting and usefull notes makes your entry a perfect TE job.

Hello Romano,
absolutely amazing shot from th eiterior of the Colosseum!For me the most essential thing is the green grass giving so captivating and expressive contrast to the surrounded Colosseum ruins.Also the POV is good to convey the beauty and uniqueness of this ancient jewel.

a well known Roma attraction this but this shot is far from most that we see from this amazing construction. A mix of organic and human colours make the place come to life so effectively and there is a real sense of scale and size to this stunning arena. Excellent!

Le point de vue est superbe pour bien illustrer ce qu'était le Colisée à l'origine avec son sous-sol bien découvert. Le poste traitement accentue un petit peu trop les teintes de vert mais les détails sont excellents.

Romano, nice symmetric shot from this great POV, central and elevated. As others have noted, the people provide a great sense of scale. The greens here are pretty amazing. I haven't been here for a long long time, but I don't remember the platform at the rear. Thanks for posting.

Ciao Romano,una composizione davvero bellissima con una scelta del pov impeccabile,l'HDR pero' non ti e' venuto molto bene,il verde spara eccessivamente e la parte di cielo e' troppo irreale e grigiastra,avrei abbassato la saturazione e clonato il cielo con uno un po' piu' azzurrino.Buon Martedi',Luciano

Your POV is impressive, especially the grass growing inside the Colloseum adds a highlight to the shot, while the visitors make it more lively and colourful. Vibrant colour hues with high sharpness, despite the fact the the sky must have been overcast. Well done

Yes it is correct I just do some very basic processing of my shots in Photoshop 7.0. I do not like what others may do by erasing things, changing colours etc. What is there is there in my photographs. As far as I can see, your photographs are not altered as well. What I like a lot. Photographs have to show that, what the photographer saw.

Nice photo except the saturation of the green areas are too high. Try reprocessing the image and use less post processing on the green tones.

Mi piace questa vista dell'interiore del Coliseo.
Non è tanto comune e tua vista è ampia, mostrando una parte importante dell'edificio.
Buona nitidezza, pero l'erba mi sembra troppo saturata. Una opinione personale.

Devo dire, questo non è quello che mi aspetterei all'interno del Colosseo, l'erba verde lussureggiante è una sorpresa! Amo il senso di scala si hanno catturato qui con l'inclusione dei turisti ronzio circa. Mi piace anche come si può vedere tutto il percorso dalle celle sotterranee profonde fino al punto più alto della zona salotto. Davvero ben visto e perfettamente eseguito.

Il gladiators roman non potresti resistere questo icone. In verita, non ho visto mai prima questo POV dal'interno. La prospettiva, il post processo e la composizione fanno una grande impressione. Credo che l'HDR qui sia sottile, e ben giudicato. Complimenti e grazie per la condivisione.

Hello Romano,
I can't remember to have seen another shot of the Colosseum that shows the interior as such a green place.
The greenery here creates a strong and beautiful contrast.
The many visitors add scale to the picture. Thanks to their presence the Colosseum looks enormous.
