Visited Japan in time for autumn foliage, absolutely beautiful. First time in this great country, won’t be the last. Did a classic route: Tokyo, Hakone, and Kyoto in 8 days. Kyoto is definitely my favorite part of the trip. The timing was perfect. The autumn colors were at their peak. But the weather did not cooperate. Two of three days were raining.

I like how the colored leaves hide big areas of the temple. Good framing (or cropping?) The trunk has a very nice graphical effect.

This is one of the most eye-catching photos on the page today! Just fantastic autumn colors, frankly speaking I don't like this season but the nature is the best artist no doubt.

Hello Tiffany,
I've always heard that Japan is at its most beautiful in autumn. I visited the country in spring and then it was also very colourful. Perhaps I was lucky. I don't know but I had very little rain and often blue skies.
The colours are truly amazing on this picture. I like the black branches running through the predominant red foliage and the view of the temple behind the trees.

Hello Tiffany,
The colors are definitely amazing in this scene. I love Japan, and fondly remember my two trips there many years ago. I like the circular window in this photo, and I don't think the white sky is a negative. In this particular case the sky compliments the temple, and makes the color of the leaves jump out even more.

Beautiful! Fantastic colours, indeed glorious strong bands of primary colours in this. The setting is great with the leaves are hanging in front of a contrasty black & white wooden temple. Great composition depicting the moment of serenity....
