Stunted Tree., a photo from Devon, England

Photographer's Note

Very little grows on Dartmoor due to it`s bleakness. The terrain is harsh and the wind howls, even in summer.
This tree would have struggled to reach it`s size for years and years.The sky is often deceiving,as you can start walking in brilliant sunshine and within half an hour later the mist comes down and people often get lost.

Your composition captures the spirit of this desolate landscape very well. The tree is nicely placed in the frame and those spectacular clouds help create a superb perspective. I like the subdued light and understated tones.

Hi Gladys,
it looks like a desolate place and after reading your note I understand it is best to be prepared with good clothes. Interesting rockformation. It looks like it is handmade, an old fundation or something.
Exellent captured mood with natural light and colors.
