Photographer's Note
"I look forward to that period I will be able to wake up with the sun: to walk the hills and valleys of my country village, Qunu, in peace and tranquility." Nelson Mandela 1997.
I continue in Mandela`s footsteps. This time from the same district where he was born in 1918. In this area were built a house for him when he became president of South Africa in 1994. This picture was taken on a Mandela-museum not far from his home.
To me this photograph stands like a symol on Mandela`s long struggle for justice and peace - from a dark past towards a brighter future.

Good evening Erling,
Besides Mandela's story which enfolded on this place, the photojob done here is marvelous.
Divided scene from the shining floor in blue "water" tones, to the outside desert-like landscape which offers little to the ordinary viewer - but contrast to what we know history had given a chance to this man, a president after all he endured.
Fine photo, my cong.'s.

Hi Erling
Strong photo and note and I love the simple but powerful composition . The thirds division is very nicely chosen and for me makes the sene of internal isolation inside very prominent against the well lit expansive landscape outside. Great photo
Best wishes

Hello Erling,
Your trip to South Africa must be wonderful truly in the museum of Nelso Mandela.
It's a wonderful two part picture, the foreground to me think to bars of the prison of Mandela.
Composition and presentation are pleasant to look at.
Very well photographed, TFS.
Have a nice day,
John.
