One of the most common antelope species in Kruger Park: the impala. Here an impala resting with a red-billed oxpecker on the back, a bird that appreciates the parasites of the fur of antelopes.

Hello Jean

Excellent use of a shallow dof with perfect sharpness on the antelope. The bird on its back is a mice addition. Perhaps it's looking for edible parasites as the note suggests? Tfs!

Hello Jean,

I wonder how long it took for this symbiotic relationship to develop! It works well for the pair and for 'the photographer' for I doubt you would have got so close to the bird were it not for the impala. But, what a wonderful photograph, revealing so much about the impala.
You had so much to see! And have this amazing record! How much better to have these sort of trophies than dead animals!

quel captage cet osieau quei vien se reposer sur le corps de l'antilpe quelle iamge et cpatage sueprbe comme elle est couhcée et ces belle cornes le bec rouge l'oeil juane il est bien l'oiseua deux amis sppendide.

a true symbiotic relationship here, helping out each other.
the antelope has parasites, the bird eats the parasites :)
I wonder if he antelope would eat the bird if it could reach out and grab it hahaha. mother nature at her best here, good capture. cheers

I saw many of this birds in victoria falls (inside the gardens of my hotel) and the impalas I saw in namibia. nice this view with the two animals and their context.
