Outer & Inner Horns, a photo from KwaZulu-Natal, East

Photographer's Note

The Outer & Inner Horns is part of the Cathedral range in the Kwazulu Natal Drakensberg both 3000m peaks (Inner Horn in cloud). This image was scanned from a negative at 2400dpi, contrast was slightly increased and image slightly sharpened. Dirt and grime on the negative was removed by means of a cloning tool in the scanned image. April is supposedly autumn, but the slopes were still bright green. The KZN Drakensberg is a world heritage site.

Nice POV and color. It is hard to get the height of something in perspective and the touch of clouds is the right touch.

Hi Wilmotz,
Impressive landscape! Good composition: I like the diagonal (indeed bright green!) at the right, it effectively brings depth in the shot. Beautiful shadows of the clouds on the mountains. The fact that the top of the left mountain is hidden in a cloud adds something mysterious the atmoshpere in this image.

Catching foreground with the green slopes and grass in the bottom right and well balanced with the clouds in the top left.
