Photographer's Note

Surrounded by forest, mountains and waterfalls in the middle of the island of Sao Tomé, there is a former Portuguese cocoa plantation called Roça Bombaim. One of the building is a house with simple guest rooms, perfect for startign trekking tours, from other house plants and trees are growing on the roof.

Almost not to believe that we see this type houses and the live of the people.
But I like your photowork with depth and perspective.

The rees are framing well the houses. The length of the path is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details of the architecture of the houses. The good luminosity is enhancing the colors. Have a nice dya.

J'adore cette photo avec ces vieilles maisons perdues au fond d'un bois. La végétation avec un début de couleurs automnales est magnifique. Bien vu le vieil instrument en avant-plan comme on en voit souvent ici.

From your note and picture, the place seems as a small heavn, Achim.
Simple as same pattern houses along the trail, shownnin fine light and clarity depth and well saturated but natural colors.

Hello Achim,
It's a nice photo from a country rarely seen on TE (or anywhere). This looks like a cosy place, or rather: it probably looked very nice decades ago, before the neglect left its marks all over. The light is good, the colours are fine, and it's an interesting contribution to TE in any case.

I'm sure this house would have been lovely in its hey day. Just look at that balcony!

a fabulous view of these rich farm houses abandoned. the architecture is very nice and it is a pity the buildings are falling down. nice details of this country rarely seen in photos. TFS.I remember a Portuguese book I read, a romance named equador telling about farmers here.

una fotografia che propone una località praticamente sconosciuta in TE e che quinfi ci aiuta a conoscerla.
Nello stesso tempo una fotografia dalla composizione ordinata con la diagonale del vialetto che la caratterizza e la luce molto ben gestita.
Bello anche il soggetto che offre un aspetto assai interessante.
Ottimi anche sia i colori quanto la definizione.

Hello Achim - This shot illustrates just how quickly nature can overtake and reclaim that which we may construct. This lovely old house is slowly being consumed by vegetation. A wonderfully verdant scene using the dirt road as a good lead in line allowing us to follow the progress of the children as they pass by the old plantation house.

Hello Achim,
There is a timeless feeling to this photo - like it could have been taken many years ago. The small building is certainly showing its age, but it is very charming, and I like the small details, such as the arched windows. The greenery is very lush, and the people walking through add more bits of color to the scene. It's all very tropical and photogenic.

It looks lush and tropical. Good sharpness and the rusting red tractor in the fg and the red flowering trees in the bg contrast well against the blue cyan shadows. The dual wheel tracks on an angle add dynamism as well as superb lead in lines and diminishing linear perspective. The 2 boys walking away towards the house animate the scene and the washing hanging out to dry on the rail adds interest. Tfs!
