Photographer's Note
Just a shot from the truck somewhere in southwestern Nigeria a few minutes from the border with Benin. So, actually it should be titled "Leaving Party" but I diodn't like the sound of that.
I have to say that being stuck in a vehicle while constantly passing scenes like this really sucked, but if we stopped everywhere than I would still be in Africa ...hindsight is always perfect.
As for Nigeria. Yes, parts were nasty, just plain nasty, but for the most part the people were great and the children were just children. Same as they are in any other part of the developing world. I think the country gets such a bad reputation for all of the authorities that constantly want bribes for everything. Other than that, if your looking for a bit of excitement, than Nigeria is the place to go.
PS: for another 100 or so shots of Nigeria just as bad as this one, as well as some that are much worse and some that are better, see my pbase Nigeria Folder.

Salut John!
Emilius
