Skhirat Plage (Skhirat Beach) is a little beach town south of Rabat. Its historic claim to fame is a former royal palace. However, a 1971 coup made the king abandon his summer resort.
It looks like it is currently coming to fame for its good surf. Surf Forecast claims "Skhirat Plage is an exposed beach and point break that usually has waves and can work at any time of the year. Works best in offshore winds from the south southeast. Tends to receive distant groundswells and the best swell direction is from the northwest. Waves at the beach break both left and right and there is left hand reef break too.. Best around low tide when the tide is falling. Sometimes crowded."
We stayed there for one night for its proximity to Rabat. In the morning, we strolled along the beach and watched these fishermen come ashore.

Skhirat Plage (Skhirat Sahili) Rabat’ın güneyinde küçük bir sahil kasabası. Tarihi şöhreti, eski bir kraliyet sarayı. Ancak, 1971’de bir darbe kral’ın yazlık sarayını terk etmesine sebep olmuş.

Biz Rabat’a yakın olduğu için bir gece kaldık. Sabah, sahil boyunca yürüdük ve bu balıkçıların kıyıya gelmesini izledik.
