Hi Patrick

Wonderful shot! fantastic golden dunes, it is what we see in mind thinking about deserts - endless sands.. great view of this man in blue, well placed in the shadow. Where is he going? And what you were doing in this beautiful but lifeless place?

Mince de la concurrence sur les photos de desert :-)

Jolie composition avec l ouverture sur le paysage dorée par la lumiere du couchant en partant du touareg dans ses beaux vetements.
Le plus difficile dans ces endroits assez frequentés et d eviter les dunes massacrés par les traces de pas ou pire par les traces de 4x4. Ca a été tres difficile lors de mon dernier voyage.

Hi Patrick,

Very excellent and clean color tone and a beautiful desert scenery!
A desert and sky color are harmonized well and it is beautiful.
The shadow projected onto rolled desert draws out very good atmosphere for the whole.
And, the footprint and a man who is walking there at the left of the screen is weaving a tale in the photograph.

the (basically) two colours of this image are in such harmony, they complement each other so well, that the whole composition is a pleasure to watch.

Reminds me of shot from miguel parra from TE..dunno if you recall, but a lovely frame, it really is..the sand looks so soaked in the sun, so little and yet the simplicity in the beauty is astonishing..

Hello Patrick,
The ridgeline of the FG sand dune creates a great diagonal line with such distinct shadow line. Fantastic to see the placement of that man in colourful dress. Top quality image.

Lovely infinite sand dunes shot with a fine warm light.
Quite a different atmosphere than "my Sahara" of course. Here is really summer and hot, in my picture is full wintertime... and no people! (As I like pure landscape) I see that in your pictures you always be sure to set a human being, which is fine of course, but quite a different genre.

Bonsoir Patrick,

Voilà un petit chef d'oeuvre de mise en image par la subtilité des accords de tonalités ( le personnage se serait-il vêtu pour "coller" au ciel et au sable ?) et par l'étonnant relief que crée la lumière basse sur la multitude de dunes. Le cadrage particulièrement pertinent apporte une touche finale d'originalité, de créativité et de mystère: on se demande en effet ce que peut faire ce brave homme à cet endroit et à ce moment-là! Bravo aussi pour la gestion technique.

il me faut du temps pour ratrapper mes 15 jours d'absence et découvrir ce que j'ai manqué.
Le soleil rasant creuse les ombres des dunes et donne des tons oranges au sable. Ciel d'un bleu limpide. pour agrémenter le tout, un autochtone dont les couleurs de la djellaba sont ceux du paysage! la classe!

De toute ta galerie, parmi les photos publiées en mon absence c'est celle-ci qui me tape dans l'oeil. Ele a le succes qu'elle mérite. La composition est remarquable; les couleurs sont superbes, avec le bleu du vêtement qui devient un rappel du ciel et le doré enchanteur des dunes. je ne comprends pas pourquoi cette photo n'est pas meilleur évaluée. C'est une photo magnifique, avec une beauté impressionante, dans une composition simple où tu as combiné la présence de l'homme avec ses vêtements traditionnels, en marchant par l'arête de la dune, avec le paysage spectaculaire du désert.
Le jeu de la lumière du soleil et les ombres sur cette surface dorée donne un grand résultat graphique et une bonne sensation tridimensionnelle.
Un travail excellent!!

Good positioning. I like the dunes half bathed in sunlight, and half in shadows. Greath depth of field, and sharp focus.

I also notice the man wearing only the colours of the surroundings - blue and brown and white. I would hate to be stuck here without water. I almost pity the man in the pic.

Powerful image, Patrick. Judging by the deep shadows and angle of the sun this would have been taken in the late afternoon. The depth of field emphasises the remoteness and desolation of the area. It remands me of the Rub El Khali in Saudi Arabia.

I also like your composition with the man in the foreground heading out, and the way in which his feet are in deep shadow, but the sun still catches the full length of his djellaba.

a very nice photo,with a great title,here is a place in which loneliness is a great threat.the photo has sharp and nice colors which have good contrast with each other,the sun light is in a good situation so we have nice shadows beside the lighted parts and can see the waves in sands very well and the man is located in the best place in the frame.
