Smurf's Land, a photo from Gao, North

Photographer's Note

The village of Yendouma, as any other Dogon village, looks like Smurf-land (the cartoon character, i Puffi in italian). I certainly do not intend any disrespect to this marvelous culture, which I really admire, it's just the first-impression I got from this amazing place as a european visitor. Hi Mario! This, like your other photos from the Dogon region, is a timeless moment. Apart from some metal barrels, it is like a sight from far ancient times. And I admire it! Mali is very top on my list of places that definitely must be visited. Good note too. Thanks.
