there is a good area to meet local people it is "taxi brousse" old peugeot track where we are squashed inside it is funny and you meet all king of etnie of Mali ...
the sign this woman has near her eye is a symbol of the Bozo community
Maybe Gaby can confirm it beacuse I'm not sure ...

Actually I was 'told' that it means that they are Hausa people. But I think Gaby will know best.
I like your portrait. I think I would use a greater DOF but I think that's a matter of taste ;)

Hi Laetitia, un portrait réellement splendide avec ses 2 personnages - je pense qu'il s'agit de touaregs ou de peuls (il faut être membre de l'ethnie pour connaître la signification d'une cicatrice tribale dont l'apposition date de l'époque des guerres et permet à une ethnie de se reconnaître notamment au Mali où il n'y a que le bambara comme langage - mais n'est plus systématique de nos jours, notamment au Mali, et aujourd'hui les enfants n'ont plus ces cicatrices)

Way behind to your postings I still like to convey you my appreciation for this duo portrait with good DOF on the man in the background with reduced light in favaor of the explicit colors of this lady and her dress, she got a nice profile an playing light in her eyes.

Very nice - this combination of opposites - covered/uncovered, old/young and plain/colourful and patterned - I like very much the combination of their looks.
