Photographer's Note
Abu Simbel was made by the great Ramses II. Built into a giant rock, this temple is huge. Carved into the front are four statues of Rames II. In the middle of the statues is the door. Through the door are eight statues of Ramses II. Decorating the walls are scenes of Ramses II killing the miserable enemies. Another hallway leads to more chambers and the inner sanctuary. Inside four satues of gods sit. On one day out of the year the sun falls on three of them, and leaves the god of the dead in darkness.

Good composition. The hieroglyphics are excellent, but the 'bricks' supporting the arm seem quite modern. An enlarged picture of just the hieroglyphics would be good. Great notes.

Really liked this one.
The point of view and the shadows helped your photo, creating a very nice feeling of texture on those hieroglyphs. The "down to up" point of view also gives an great sense of grandiosity to the ruins. I just think that a more thingt composition would have been nice. Maybe one that would cut out the sky (since it is a dead part of the picture).
Great Picture. Thx for sharing!

Bonjour Philippe,
La prise de vue permet de voir les détails et les couleurs de cette partie du colosse de Ramsès II. L'image est claire et nette. Le sujet est bien cadré. La lumière qui est réfléchie sur le colosse, met en valeurs les couleurs. Bon dimanche.

Thos ancient forms in Egypt are always wonderful and full of mysteries, and you were wise in choosing such angle to emphasize that power. The light was also well managed. Congratulations!

Bonsoir Philippe,
Your only pic. from Egypt, and a well scanned job done. Details carved stone-painting shown in fine clarity. This place is awesome, though I do not think of it as a future travel location.
Au revoir,
Ike
