Photographer's Note

This was taken in Karnak temple in Luxor. I have previously posted a picture of the Great hypostyle hall from Karnak temple.

Luxor is Thebes in ancient Egypt, and the temple of Karnak is one of the major sights in the area. The complex was about 1.5km by 800 m, large enought to contain St Peter's cathedral in Rome and St. Paul's cathedral in London. It was built, added to, and restored over 1500 years by various pharaohs in ancient Egypt.
