Photographer's Note
Graphical shot taken in Melen, one of Yaoundé's slums. It is the first picture I post here from my recent mission to Cameroon on housing finance. Like most of African countries, over 80% of people in Cameroon can't afford to access a decent dwelling through legal frameworks (banks, public housing) and live in shacks. Informal squatting and incremental construction are thus the only way to build an affordable shelter for most of households.
The house on the photo is a lot cuter than most of surrounding dwellings, and was upgraded several time...

Simple but beautiful capture. I don't know what makes this a great shot, but it IS great! The colors are beautiful, tones are great, simplicity is very nice too, the texture of the wall, a lot of detail! Very well done! :-)
PS: Was there any post-processing done here? (I guess so) And if yes, what technique did you use?
Thanks for sharing,
Thomas

Hi Sebastien.
A simple but very graphical shot, nice warm colours, and the history about how one window in one wall can tell a history,I don't know why the african colours always look african colours and why you can suppose that one shot was taken there only watching its colours..The soft blue in the window give the shot a fairy-tale effect, even though reality hasn't much of fairy-tale in this countries.TFS 'Seb'.
Best regards,
Sonsoles.

This is a masterpiece. The position of the shutter, sloping down, is extremely beautiful and it gives a quiet aspect to the whole picture. Congratulations.

Bonsoir Seb ,
Magnifique image.
