Photographer's Note

Ok, let’s leave apart the beautiful landscapes and go back to the series which started with my first picture

This shot is a harsh one of the everyday life in Angola, a 12 million people sub-saharian country leaving a permanent civil war since the end of the 1970’s.

In various areas of the City like this one (Bairro dos Coqueirros), you have to face an unbelievable poverty : children sleeping in sewer pipes, older guys going around stinking trashes to pick up some food, crazy people going nude along the street and shouting meaningless things.

Let’s mention this district was not one of the poorest but the very historical center of Luanda where I used to have my office. Views like this were my everyday environnement.
