Great nwoehnl 2004-07-09 10:41

I guess given this distinctively barren setting, your title for this posting is appropriately chosen, Dan. I like how the road provides a diagonal lead into the scenery, and how the various layers of hill ranges are seen towards the back. The "trucks use lower gear" sign provides an interesting and slightly intriguing element. Your photo is well-contrasted in good colors, thanks for sharing it.

Default To nwoehnl: E.T. Highway

The nickname for this road is actually the Extraterrestrial Highway as it is near Groom lake, a place of apparent interest to aliens, or so they tell me.

Thanks Dan for this additional info; actually I almost suspected a connection based on what you wrote in your note. I am planning a trip to Southern Calif., Nevada, Arizona and southern Utah for 2005 or 2006, but I'm not sure if in Nevada I'll be passing Hwy 375 ..

Have a nice weekend -
