Is the windmill still there?
Indeed, Nieuw-Amsterdam has become New York.
The first colonists included many people who had emigrated from the Southern Netherlands (today Belgium) to the Northern Netherlands a century earlier.
Great view with the high-rise above the blades of the mill.

The windmill was removed after the festival. Maybe we should have a permanent one as a reminder of NYC's Dutch roots. :-) I hope all is well with you. Take care! Brenda
