This looks similar to Indian Thaipusam festival, and the Batu Caves north of KL in January are the place to see it. Tfs!

To ChrisJ: Hi Chris...
Yes someone else mentioned the same on one of the previous posts. We too have Thaipusam here in Singapore, although I have to say- in all the years of seeing it- this festival in Phuket far exceeds it in the sense of extremes the devotees (Ma Song) go to.
In all honesty, I would say this makes the Thaipusam festival look more like an ear piercing in comparison. If ever back in the region during that time, I'd suggest checking it out! Cheers, - Dan
