Hello Bev, Interesting view of the ancient street. Pompeii and Herculaneum look a bit differently. I chose Pompeii because of the Mitoraj exhibition. And it seemed to be more interesting, as Pompeii is much bigger and there are monuments of various kinds. The advantage of the Herculaneum is that it is less popular, so not so many tourists go there, but in Pompeii, it was not as bad. have you visited the Museum in Naples? It is well worth doing as there are many original objects there from the two towns. Also climbing Vesuvius is a fine adventure.

Thank you for your interest, Malgo.
We have visited Pompeii and Herculaneum twice and if given the choice of just one of them, I would plump for Herculaneum. Both have a lot to offer and honestly, I'm glad I visited both places but there is so much to see about the way people built their houses and the way they decorated them and their life styles, in Herculaneum, without having to push your way through crowds, or wait in a line to enter interesting places. My warm regards, Bev :-) |
