Hello Bev - I'm so pleased you have posted a Gormley figure. My son has taken some shots of this amazing place (B&W) and its good to see a colour shot. The figure stiff and straight backed looks so incongruous standing on the beach with feet buried in the sand. I like the fact that you have 'real' people in the shot, they together with wind turbines add a sense of place and accentuate the vastness of the flat beach scape. A strong and successful composition. I thin I shall have to pay this place a visit! Warm regards Rosemary

You would enjoy it, especially if you can see it on a sunny day.
The figures are dotted all over the beach, which is vast. When we were there, the tide was right out so the statues were exposed, though we did see some with the water beginning to submerge them. The queer thing is, you expect them to raise their arms, make some attempt to escape, not just stand there and accept being drowned. Have a lovely day, Bev :-) |

I would love to see these 'drowning' men ... sounds so weird! You too have a good day. Rosemary
