Hello Jorge,
Beautiful combination of a white facade and tower with the blue doors and window shutters.
So this colonial church has not been transformed by French priests into a building with a totally different style.

I guess the old colonial church demolish by the french priests wasn't so beautiful like this, but it fitted with the colonial style of the whole town. in the beginning of the 20 th century many people thought a sample of gothic was more important than a colonial art. our famous modernist architect Oscar Niemayer wanted to explode a art-nouveu palace in Belo Horizonte city because he hated the style. to respect the others and what they built is nice in any case. ------ I found this text with an old photo of the demolished church in the page 10, check if you want and compare. https://pdfs.semanticscholar.org/f4c...0dc48b7b9f.pdf take care jorge
