Default To mjw364: Government and 'Crazies'

Hi Mike - thanks for the long and thoughtful comment here. I agree with most of what you're saying; I think you'd find the kind of extreme cases of mass killings or shootings in any country, and certainly there have been extremely senseless and violent acts elsewhere. My point in this series, which you get to in your comment, is that this is an issue not of the vocal supporters of gun rights, but of the governmental inaction on this issue, and the hypocrisy that at times seems irreversibly entrenched in American politics. In that manner, I think this is a very American problem right now; a social issue that cries out for government regulation running up against a deep-seated American fear of governmental overreach with a reaction that deepens the problem itself.
