... photos with a color focus? I mean some persons in the middle are in full color, and the color decreases to the edges of the photo?

It is allowed, most techniques of the wet darkroom are allowed, I asked personally to Adam once, colors can be adepted through filters up to B&W, light can be mannaged, burning and dodging can .... a compilation of different shots in to one can not, although HDR can, a compilation of different shots next to each other can, cloning in main targets can not, cloning out minor disturbing elements can ....
It is indeed very large what can, therefore you see a lot of heavy postprocessing people even in B&W next to people who prefer not to touch what comes out of the camera, two worlds, I think most acceptable way is sticking to reality with a personal touch as a camera is only a tool not a photocopy machine. |

Henk,
What you are saying seems to directly contravene the TOS. Item 3. Only photographs are permitted. Images may not be digitally manipulated in an image editing program ie, Photoshop except for the following reasons: Copyright notices and (straight-edged, plain) frames Cropping, resizing and sharpening Touching up (dust, slight imperfections) Levels, Curves, Color adjustment, Hue, Saturation etc. for minor image enhancements. Multiple exposures to get proper exposure values Stitching for panoramic photos Color conversion to Black and White, Sepia, Duotone etc. Perspective correction for parallax or lens distortion. |

Keith, from my point of view, it seems like what Henk wrote and what is written in item 3 is very similar, only said in different words...The exceptions are what Henk wrote that was allowed.
Anyway, there will always be some pp done...huge modifications are quite easy to see. Best regards, Marc |

I meant: the exceptions listed in item 3 are pretty much the same as what Henk listed as being accepted...

Indeed it's pretty much the same, let's go through it :
colors can be adepted through filters up to B&W -> this is levels, saturation, colour adjustments, hue, Color conversion to Black and White, Sepia, Duotone etc. light can be managed -> levels, curves, shadow/highlight etc. burning and dodging can -> could indeed be done, I don't see it in adam's list of allowed things, but I think it's still allowed..it doesn't change that much and was practised frequently in dark rooms. a compilation of different shots (panorama's?) in to one can not -> But after developing you could put them on or next to each other, so actually it was still kinda possible, but ofcourse panorama's are for certain allowed on TE :) although HDR can -> and is allowed a compilation of different shots next to each other can -> thus you can create a photo with 2 or 3 images in it, if you like..You can spot them here on the site, I don't see them getting removed.. cloning in main targets can not -> and is thus not allowed cloning out minor disturbing elements can -> that's : Touching up (dust, slight imperfections) Conclusion : pretty much the same huh? |

Thus it's not really contravene to the TOS..far from.
